Excellent, given the scope of the series

It is difficult to rate this fairly because you have to ask about the intended audience. If you are looking for an in-depth scholarly treatment of Matthew, this would be 2 stars. However, that's not the scope of this series. I've used many Tyndale NT commentaries over the years, and it is a very good series, but not as in-depth as NICNT, NIGTC, WBC, etc. With that said, France does an excellent job commenting on the kinds of questions people turn to a commentary for, and not spending too much time on the blah, blah, blah, that fills the pages of so many commentaries. While you aren't getting all the details, you are getting the fruits of top-notch scholarship. It's a great commentary, given its scope.

Though all the commentaries in this series are not equal, this is very good. His exposition of Ch.24 is well argued, even if you don't agree with his conclusions.

Yves Saint Laurent, the charmed genius of effortless success, and Karl Lagerfeld, the patrician workhorse, engaged in a decades-long competition for hyperbolic headlines and jet-set celebrity, pitting their cliques against each other in bitch-slap feuds of sartorial splendor. Theirs is a world of glorious, hideous self-involvement, where heroin is an accessory, violent political unrest is an evening's amusement, and a close friend's suicide is, foremost, a contemptible blemish on an orchestrated image. Drake's subjects made their livings and their names dedicating themselves to the pursuit of surface perfection, and her comprehensive examination of their barbed, parallel arcs is appropriately superficial. These titanic designers crafted their personas as carefully as they put together their luxurious collections, and we come to know them as reflections in the mirror houses they built. LOVED THIS BOOK

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book- so much so, I found it hard to put down. SO MUCH fascinating information on subjects ranging from Fashion Design trends at that time and the many insuing changes to the many historical, business, social, and political issues contributung to the scene as it evolved. The book is juicy with incredible details--- really FUN to read!

As someone who enjoys art and fashion this book is an insider's look at how a fashion house is hatched. It takes fortitude, ego and creativity which is something that both YSL and Lagerfeld do not lack in. Enjoyed the book's history of the 50's on forward and how it affected both designers who became the word in fashion. Some live longer to tell the story as in Lagerfeld while others fall into the excesses of the day and nightlife.

Yang Leng is a Professor of Materials Science at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. His contribution to teaching materials science is exemplified by the Teaching Excellence Appreciation award from the HKUST.

About the Author
Dr Chen Jia-xu is a professor, state-approved doctoral supervisor, and director of Chinese Medicine Diagnostics in the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (BUCM), where he has spent virtually his entire career teaching, conducting research and practicing at the hospital since 1988. Jane Francis Wilson has been a senior lecturer at Westminster University (UK) since 1998, in addition to having a vibrant private practice in London.

Diagnostics made straight forward

As a student of Traditional Chinese Medicine I can say this book is a gem. Covering everything from the basics to in depth differential diagnosis, this book will give the serious student a firm grounding in diagnostics. The book is rich with charts, explanations, and diagnostics.

Ya, i can recommend this book

This is an excellent book, especially for the student, it is straight forward to the point and concise. The companion DVD worked perfectly for Windows 97, but would not work with my old system running Windows XP. I would highly recommend this book, and you can't beat the price.

Great study tips and an invaluable supply of practice questions.

Cramming for a geo bee is really tough. There's a near infinite amount of information about the world for you to try to digest - but precious little information about what a bee is really like and what kind of questions they really ask. "The Geography Bee Complete Preparation Handbook" covers those issues better than anything else out there. While there is some good geography overview source materials here - this isn't what makes this book special. The study guides are good, but can't compete with online games like geonet or purposegames. The real strength of this book is the articles about what the bee is really like and how to go about structuring your study plans and practice sessions. That and the 1001 practice questions. These questions are true to the style and feeling of real Nat'l Geographic GeoBee questions. Time and again I find I have trouble cooking up a good supply of these types of questions for study sessions on my own. Having a big supply like this on hand is invaluable. My only real complaint is that there isn't more of them. I'd like a book of 10,001 questions!

All in all, this is the best and most useful geography bee study guide I've seen (and I've seen most). Highly recommended for anyone getting prepared for a geography bee.
